Generally speaking people don’t regret what they do, they regret what they don’t do.
People often ask me if I regret leaving Clarks. The answer has to be no. I am incredibly proud of starting a business from scratch and the fact it is going pretty well. I am learning all the time. Sometimes it is unbelievably tedious (who in their right minds would choose to deal with share registrars on a daily basis, for example) and I don’t earn a great deal. But there is a lot more to life than money (says she from the privileged position of having enough).
So now I’m starting another small venture – a website called Going Strong. Who knows if it will be a success, but it is already great in that it means I talk to new people, and re-ignite contact with others who I know will provide great content. The worst that happens is I lose a bit of money but it doesn’t take off, and I give up in a few months’ time.
